School Shooting in Texas
Texans endured one of the worst school shootings in American history in Uvalde. In May 2022, 19 children, ages 9-11, and two teachers were killed during a mass shooting at Robb Elementary School. A further 17 people were injured. Key warning signs began to emerge after the tragedy. The shooter posted messages on social media indicating that he was going to shoot his grandmother and at an elementary school.
In response to the tragedy, Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) partnered with legislators from both sides of the aisle to pass the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act. Legislative efforts continue in Texas to reduce the risk of similar tragedies in the future.

Prevent gun violence in Texas
You can help make Texas a safe place for kids and for your whole community.
